Charlie debated four years for Edina High School. During his senior year, Charlie broke at every national circuit tournament attended, finishing with three bids to the tournament of champions from the Glenbrooks, Apple Valley, and Valley.  He was champion of the Valley tournament an runner up at the Blake round robin. As coach for Ridge High School, his students have received four bids this year and competed in the out rounds of tournaments such as Yale, Bronx, Apple Valley, and Princeton.
