Tom Evnen recently graduated from Swarthmore College with a B.A. in philosophy. He now coaches full-time for the nationally-renowned debate program at the Hockaday School.

As a debater, Evnen twice debated outrounds at the Tournament of Champions, advancing to finals as a senior. He was also both state and district champion.

In his four years of coaching, Evnen has helped students to finals of the Greenhill Round Robin, Wake Forest, Emory, Bronx, Lexington, the Vassar Round Robin, the Victory Briefs Tournament, and the Texas State tournament. His students have also participated in late elimination rounds at Valley, Greenhill, St. Mark’s, Glenbrooks, and Apple Valley. Evnen’s students have been consistent participants in elimination rounds at the Tournament of Champions, and, last year, one of Evnen’s students won the NFL National tournament.

Happily, this will be Evnen’s sixth year working for the National Debate Forum.
